Welcome to a new month, and with it, new Book of the Month selections!
If you’re interested in a BOTM subscription, consider trying it out through my referral link: https://www.mybotm.com/ro55ozuuzw. Your first box should be discounted with the link, but be aware that you can’t cancel until your second book has been billed at the full rate. Pricing is dependent on your state taxes and is subject to change, so be sure to read the fine print of their site for your actual box pricing.
Return to Sender by Stephanie Parente was on my anticipated list for the year, but I’m not sure I want to actually buy it. I don’t keep a lot of romance books, so I might wait for it to get to my library.
All of the main picks sound like something I would read, but Heart of Glass by Jennifer Hillier seems like a book I would want to own after reading, so I’m leaning toward picking that one as my main pick. Although the Offset book pick, Hello, Limerence by Momo Yamaguchi, also sounds intriguing, and that is allowed to be a main pick. I tend to go for the Offset books, and this one is set in Japan, but the dating hell of Gen Z is not necessarily something I’m interested in reading.
However, I’m extremely disappointed that the add-on choice The Good Parts by Evann Normandin was already sold out on day one! Doing some research, I guess this has been happening in the last few months on BOTM, but this is the first time I’ve seen it.
I was really excited for that book, but I suppose so was everyone else if it’s already sold out. They should really know how many copies they need on-hand so books aren’t gone within the first 24 hours, especially since the books for August were released July 29th, which is pretty early, and people have like a week to pick their books. It’s ridiculous that the book was already sold out! So because of that, I’m debating on just skipping this month.
Now that it’s the next day from recording the video, as I write this up I see The Good Parts is available! I wonder if it was a glitch in the system, but it definitely said it was sold out on that first day. Although, now I see The Unknown by Riley Sager is sold out. It seems a bit strange that some of these are selling out so fast.
I will definitely be adding on The Good Parts as an add-on, so for the main pick I’m between trying the Offset book Hello, Limerence or going for the thriller Heart of Glass.
