Book Blurb
Min of Marles is a skilled apprentice, assisting the town’s apothecarist in brewing potions, tonics, and deadly poisons. High in the estate tower where she works, a powerful immortal is kept chained, tortured daily for information. His screams haunt her waking and dreaming hours. A god, she learns. The East Wind, Eurus, who commands the sea-born storms.
A hasty attempt to free him leads to Min’s own capture and forced employment to the East Wind as an aide to his grand plans for revenge. In the City of Gods, a tournament is held every thousand years, in which the winner may ask a favor from the esteemed Council of Gods. If Eurus wins, the council must reverse his banishment, the sentence that exiled him and his brothers to the mortal realms. But he requires a deadly poison to ensure that, once the favor is granted, the council will pay for his centuries long exile.
To earn her freedom, Min reluctantly assists in Eurus’s plans. As they work together to defeat the deadly trials, she realizes her relationship to the East Wind isn’t purely transactional. But if she ever wishes to return home, she must betray the god she loves.
My Thoughts
The East Wind is the final installment in the Four Winds series, and honestly, I loved it. This book felt like everything the series had been building toward, not just in terms of plot, but emotionally as well.
Min’s journey really stood out to me. Watching her finally find her self-worth was incredibly satisfying, especially after everything she’d been through. Her growth felt natural and earned, and it made her story even more impactful. At the same time, seeing the East Wind, Eurus, come out of his shell and learn to trust again added such a strong emotional layer to the story. Their relationship wasn’t just about romance, it was about healing from past trauma, and I loved how they supported each other through both the painful and hopeful moments.
One of my favorite parts of this book was getting to see all four brothers together. In the previous books, we mostly saw them interacting one-on-one, so having them all come together here really made this feel like a true finale. It gave the story a sense of unity and completion.
I also loved how everything tied back to the larger conflict, especially with Prince Balior and the Beast continuing to be major threats after escaping in The South Wind. This book does a great job of wrapping up those lingering plot threads while still giving Min and Eurus the space they deserve as the central focus.
And the epilogue? Absolutely perfect. Getting to see all the brothers with their wives—and even their children—was everything I wanted. Since they’re immortal until they choose to give that up, I wasn’t sure how spread out their stories would be timeline-wise, but it turns out they all made that choice within about five years of each other. It made the ending feel even more cohesive and satisfying.
Overall, this really felt like all the pieces from the previous books came together in the best way possible. It balanced the bigger picture of the series with the intimate story of Min and Eurus beautifully.
Final Thoughts
The East Wind is exactly what you want from a series finale: emotional, cohesive, and satisfying. It brings closure not only to the overarching storyline but also to the characters we’ve grown attached to along the way.
If you’ve been following this series, this final installment delivers on everything: character growth, romance, and a sense of full-circle completion. And if you love stories about healing, trust, and finding strength in love, this one absolutely hits the mark.
