This month went really fast, and I was only able to finish two books, bringing my YTD to five. This is not what I had hoped for the beginning of the year, but hopefully my March will be better.
What I Read
Best Offer Wins by Marisa Kashino
288 pages | Thriller | 2 stars
I did not like this book very much. I’m surprised I even finished it, but it was sort of like how you can’t look away from an accident. Something about the book just would not let me go, and it was a fairly quick read, but I was so disappointed in the ending.

The Writing Life by Annie Dillard
111 pages | Memoir | 3 stars
I read this the last day of the month just so I could have a better book to put as my favorite since I did not enjoy Best Offer Wins at all. However, I didn’t realize this book was mostly a memoir. I thought it would have some practical advice or writing tips, but it was mostly free flowing thoughts from Annie Dillard on her writing journey, so I didn’t enjoy it as much as I’d hoped.
Favorite Book of the Month
My favorite book has to be The Writing Life just because Best Offer Wins was not it. I’m pretty disappointed by my reading so far this year, especially since January and February are typically the months were I read 8 or more books each, but this year has been unusual. Hopefully I can get back on track in March. At least these both were from my TBR shelf, so I am still making progress on clearing that out.
