This is a bit later in the month than I normally post my wrap-ups, but I had to do some things over the weekend, so I couldn’t get to it until today after work. I didn’t think I read much this month, but I did manage to finish three books, bringing my YTD to 46 books. I’m definitely on track to finish 50 by the end of the year; I’m hoping I can finish more than 57 as that’s the most I’ve finished in a year since I’ve started tracking my reading in 2018.
What I Read
The Betrayal: The Lies We Fear by Heather Ogden
180 pages | Fantasy-Dystopian | 3 stars
I was given the ARC book by the publisher for this one. It’s the first in a series, and it was a bit short for my liking. I thought more could’ve been explored with the worldbuilding, but by the end of the book, it hooked me. I’m interested to see where the rest of the series goes.

The Possession of Alba Diaz by Isabel Cañas
384 pages | Horror | 5 stars
I loved this book so much! It was a perfect read for the spooky season, and it didn’t end how I expected, which I always love. It also fit one of my squares for my Fall TBR Bingo Challenge, so that was a bonus.
Discontent by Beatriz Serrano
192 pages | Literary Fiction | 5 stars
I picked this book for BOTM on a whim in September. It sounded interesting and something that I could relate to, and it was exactly that. It was also a short read, so didn’t cause too much existential dread when it reminded me how corporate jobs can be.
Favorite Book of the Month
My favorite book this month has to go to The Possession of Alba Diaz by Isabel Cañas. If you’re a fan of horror, check it out.
